About Von R Buzard

Chicago commercial of product, people and pets, photographer Von R Buzard started his career as a film Producer/Director. After having a few films under his belt, he prepared to head off to college to perfect his craft. As fate would have it, he fell into the Photo Production Technology studies at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale…And fell in love with the still image. With college behind him, he instantly went to work shooting everything he could. When shooting jobs were thin, he worked to hone his darkroom skills at photo labs across Chicagoland.

One day in the mid eighties his boss at the time asked if he would be interested in learning computer graphics. It was the beginning of another glorious adventure. As the technology grew, so did Von’s skills. Whenever possible he would take time to learn from the Masters of the field, such as Taz Tally and Michael Kieran. Taking what he had learned, expanding on it to make it his very own. As these skills grew so did the assignments, from retouching to page layout, advertisements, POP/POS, Tradeshow materials, brochures, catalogs and more items than can be named

Having spent part of his career shooting portraits, and then for commercial clients, he recently has been adding Fashion & Glamour photography. Also shooting portfolios for models trying to get into the business has given Von the opportunity to further hone his skills. Again learning from masters of the field, Steve Nichols and Bill Lemon.

Von has come into his very own with his fresh and unique style of photography and graphic arts.

Von has always received the highest compliments on his photos. The same phrase keeps coming up, “This is the best photo I have ever had taken”

Von is the Presdient of the Chicago/ Midwest ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) chapter.

Von is also an avid Cyclist, Swimmer and Long Distance Runner
